Senior Level Designer
We're looking for a Senior Level Designer to design and execute levels within Minecraft that deliver engaging gameplay experiences.
You will be responsible for designing levels start to finish, mentoring other designers, and collaborating closely with different departments to ensure each level is engaging, balanced and aligned with the overall vision of the project.
What you will do
- Own the design and lead the execution of gameplay driven levels
- Mentor and support junior and mid-level designers
- Partner with stakeholders (creative director, producer, and leadership) to ensure levels deliver on core mechanics, maintain balanced difficulty, and sustain player engagement
- Collaborate closely with game design, art, and development teams to maintain alignment throughout production
- Organize and lead cross-department meetings to resolve design or gameplay issues
- Conduct playtests, gather feedback, and refine levels to enhance player experience
- Work closely with environment artists to transform blockouts into visually cohesive spaces that support both gameplay and thematic goals
Requirements
- Professional experience designing levels (preferably in voxel based environments)
- Strong expertise in gameplay flow, pacing, difficulty balance, and player engagement
- Skilled in planning, testing, and iterating on complex level designs
- Comfortable working with project management and collaboration tools such as Notion, Linear, Git, and Discord
- Experienced with collaborative workflows and iteration through feedback
- Bonus: Basic programming knowledge
- Bonus: Skilled in environmental concept art

- As an Employee in Germany: 18€ to 22€ per hour.
- Employment is also available in the UK, Austria, and Slovenia. Rate will differ based on local circumstances.
